Salukis in Latvia

For this moment we have all together 6 Salukis in Latvia (incl. Wayla & Aza).

So, lets talk a  little bit about them.

My Wallaby's Wajd Wayla "Wayla" was first Saluki in Latvia and she came from Finnish kennel Wallaby's in winter 2003. Wayla is very calm and delicate Saluki, she has typical cat nature and she do not like when somebody touch her or force to do something. Wayla  is very stubborn and you should be quite patient in order to persuade her to do (or not) something. For example, she do not like shows, but she can do it if I will ask. :)

Second Saluki in Latvia came from Russia, from kennel Basarat Karim only 3.5 years later in 2007. Her name is Basarat Karim Bihiyah Hurhid "Sunny". She was born on March 28, 2007. She is definitely most communicable Saluki I have ever seen, very "sunny" and always happy to see me. She likes children very much and is ready to play football with them all day long. However, Sunny has a high opinion of oneself and sometimes could be very lordly and even selfish. She is queen of her house and first princess for her owner.

One year later (in 2008) from same Russian kennel Basarat Karim came Saluki girl Basarat Karim Carim Chamaneh "Nesha". She was born on March 8, 2008. She lives together with Sunny and is her half-sister. Nesha is very quite and very, very tender girl. She likes her owner best of all and needs her attention most of all.

And, at the end of year 2008 fourth Saluki came from Sweden. Also girl, born October 7, 2008. Al-Shen Elhama "Cameron" is from kennel Al-Shen. Tender, very quite girl. Like every girl Cameron likes sweets (dog sweets) very much, but in spite of all she keeps great figure and achieves wonderful show results.

April 2011. Deal in a one day and forever ever. Saluki girl number 5 came to Latvia from Russian kennel Salgrey's. Her name is Salgrey's Azalah, but we call her "Aza", gipsy Aza. What sort of Saluki is she? She is mustang, real mustang ... and crocodile! :) She is sooo stubborn and sooo hard-bitten! She bites whatever moves or not. Aza is brave and confident Saluki. At first month at new home she showed her hunting instinct first on a bird from Easter decoration and than on a real (!) bird cathead in a garden!!! Hoo-boy! What she will show next???

Year 2011 is quite lucky for Latvia. One more imported Saluki, this time from Germany. Pari-Was Thabit "Thabi" is a nice and shy boy from kennel Pari-was. His first show was held on July 2nd. In spite of his young age, he showed great results! Keep going, little Thabi! You are number 6!
